Finding Queen Calafia is the first book in a Fantasy/Adventure series that chronicles the exploits of two intrepid friends on a mission to find the mythical warrior queen of California.

The Adventures of Espladian is the 16th-century chivalric romance in which the warrior Queen Calafia first appears. Characterized as brutal and un-Christian, and commanding an army of fierce warrior woman who patrolled the land from the sky on the backs of griffins, Queen Calafia seldom finds her way into the history books of California students. Few realize the state is named after her.

There is more to her story than a brief appearance in what was essentially  Conquistador pulp fiction. Talia Mayfield and Cass Arauso lead the reader on a journey through the multiverse to free Queen Calafia from her temporal prison. Every step of the way, they are pursued by the cruel and ambitious Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán, a sorcerer  who will stop at nothing to prevent Queen Calafia's restoration to the throne.
