L R Easterling received her doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration and is a single mother.  She was inspired to write this book to encourage others to reach their goals no matter what their past looks like. The book is inspired by some of her life events.  She worked full-time and raised her daughter while accomplishing her life long goals.
