Outside the Window dark clouds painted the sky in a deep hue - the fluffy masses above swirling together, complementing each other as they worked hard to replace the glittering stars that were hidden behind.

Outside the Window sheets of glistening droplets plagued the view, shrouding the area in darkness as the clouds above wept for reasons unknown. They drowned the streets below in their sorrows, wallowing in their pain that was contagious and uncalled for.

Outside the Window icy blasts of air from the North assaulted anything and everything, indiscriminately. Whether it be a leaf that was torn from its bearer, a lone dog who's whines fell on deaf ears, or even a building that had the audacity to stand in its way, it was determined to wreak havoc on the once peaceful neighborhood.

Outside the Window the trees groaned, bending to the will of its attacker and wobbling on its legs. Resisting, despite the odds that were heavily stacked against them. Protesting, aware of the voice that it lacked both metaphorically and literally. Standing, determined to accompany the ground as it's comrades and supporters were lost in the wind. 

Outside the Window was a battle.

Inside the Window was a blessing.
