Happy Holiday Weekend to all those who celebrate the various holidays! Over half of the Runaway Dragon Rider has been dropped to date and there are only two more official parts of the Workshop to go. Please message me with questions that you have concerning writing issues that you need more details on. I'll leave the book open to add appendices for those answers. I hope you've been finding the Workshop useful. Enjoy your writing and have a great day!

Hello Readers, Sorry to those in the Workshop that I missed a drop but I've been busy getting a book published this weekend - very exciting process! I still need to finish the promo for it so I'm running behind on other projects. I'll try to have the next installment of the Workshop up on Wednesday. If you're interesting in seeing what I've just published, you can find it at: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/715964. Enjoy your writing and have a great day!

The Journey Writer's Workshop is designed for all writers who are struggling with their stories. It takes the process from the beginning with just an idea, through the development, and on through the actual writing process. My goal is to help as many writers improve their craft as I can. I hope it will inspire others to create amazing stories to share with others.

Thanks for adding Mighty Dragons to your reading list :) I hope you enjoy/enjoyed.

@Cross-Warrior I've only had a chance to get through the prologue. An interesting start. The end felt a little rushed. Are you working from a computer or a hand-held? If you're on a computer, I'd recommend getting a text to speech app. I'm on a Windows platform and I use the Read Aloud app. Very useful! Listen to what you write before you publish it. Often you'll catch the little stuff - missing words or wrong words. But you'll also hear the flow of the language. A lot of writers don't think about that. I've left you a few notes in the prologue. If you find these helpful, I'll gladly take the time to leave more in the following chapters. My time is limited at the moment but I'm trying to reach out to other writers who are asking for help. I had a special connection to your story because of the white dragon. My current work also includes a white dragon so I always pay attention to see what other writers are doing with dragons. I'm only posting a chapter a week of the Runaway Dragon Rider because I'm trying to keep my readers busy while I work on a novel from that series. You're more than welcome to check it out. Take note that I almost never use tags - "he said." They get distracting. Modern fiction is fast paced and tends to follow the pattern: think - act - speak. So far, I'm quite impressed with your work. With some fine tuning, this could be a great story! I hope this helps.

I know this is grim, but I actually like the morbid endings. Maybe that's just me though. I mean, there is a silver lining in at least one of them... maybe two.

Thanks for the recommendation, and I hope you enjoy your readings.

@MatthewTravagline Hi Matt, still reading. Sorry it took so long to respond but I don't usually have good connection except on Fridays. I've also read your shorts. Hmm. They are imaginative and interesting beginnings. Maybe you should consider where the story goes from there. What you've got are more like Calls to Adventure. If you intended to end them at that point, I'd reconsider. All three of them seem very ... morbid at their current endings. While shock is a way to attract reader attention, it's not a positive way to leave them. Haven't read enough of your larger story to say more at this point but I'll drop you an important name - Joseph Campbell. If you haven't heard of him, look him up. Have a great day!
