Long ago, two sibling divine dragons protected the ancient land of Hyrule. Hylia, the Light Dragon, taught the people of Hyrule the wisdom they needed to thrive. Under her aid, the people of Hyrule built a kingdom governed by knowledge which would stand for millennia. Ganon, the Shadow Dragon, taught the people of Hyrule the strength to stand on their own and to protect their land from invaders.
Years passed and the people of Hyrule lived in harmony with their protectors until one day everything changed. Corrupted by his own power, Ganon believed it was his right to lord over the people of Hyrule. He gathered a group of loyal followers from Western Hyrule and set out to conquer the land. As his conquest continued, he earned the name "Demise," the name which legends know him by. Hylia, though wishing she did not have to challenge her brother, forged the Master Sword, a divine sword capable of destroying Ganon. She bestowed the gift of the Master Sword upon her chosen hero who rode into battle alongside her own daughter, the Princess of Hyrule. Together, the pair sealed away Demise for centuries to come.
Now, ancient Hyrule stands divided. The peaceful western Kingdom of Hyrule and the eastern Empire of Gerudo maintain a fragile relationship. A bold move by Emperor Ghriahim of Gerudo sparks a war between the two countries.
In Hyrule, Princess Zelda must embrace her destiny as heir to the throne while a young man named Link trains to become a knight. The fates of the pair are ever intertwined by the whims of destiny as they rise to meet their future against the backdrop of a seemingly impossible war.
