Hey there this is Lakan Mandaragat, formerly known as Fidel Lansangan here, inspired from the character of the same name from the movie 100 Tula para kay Stella.
Since a child, I was interested in reading poems, but not really that much of a reader, nor a writer. Started writing poems as a hobby back in 2015 with no intentions of publishing, but started doing so here on 2017. Why did I start? I've experienced a similar situation with that movie where I fall in love with a friend whom I can't confess my feelings for. She's an avid reader here, so in order to get her attention, I've started publishing my works. By the time you're reading this, most parts if not all of it have already been removed.
Why did I stopped writing? Those feelings didn't flourish well, took me a while to get back on my feet, then I've entered a busy college life in 2019, I've also lost interest in writing at that point. On 2023, I've graduated with a Psychology degree, worked in the HR field, but later resigned to focus on board exams. Fortunate enough to passed and become a Registered Psychometrician in 2024, but it's hard to secure a job since our profession isn't widely recognized in the country.
Why did I get back at writing? Frustrated in finding a job, I tried to divert my mind, but I'm still actively looking. I watched TV series/movies, listened to music, mostly rising PPOP groups and other solo singer-songwriters such as Maki, Dionela, syd hartha, and Angela Ken, some of the key figures in reviving my passion for poetry. I started reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear after hearing it from BINI Maloi, I've learned that small habits may have huge impacts on our later lives, thus I've started to get back on writing. I may not be that active here and once I get employed, but I'll try to continue this habit of mine.
