“It’s fine… just leave it,” I whispered, my voice unsteady.

“Almost done,” he breathed against my collarbone.

Goosebumps raced across my skin. My pulse thundered in my ears. No, no, no, Lydia. Don’t let one kiss confuse you.

I tried to pull away — and then I felt his teeth against my neck.

His horse pawed impatiently at the ground while Derek tried to loosen the knot with his mouth. I froze, eyes shut tight, waiting for it to end. His lips brushed my skin, his breath warm beneath my shirt.

Hello my dear friends! I just published new chapter of WINTERING HEARTS: The Fever.
Things are getting really risky between Cat and Cail. Their temptation is getting weakened. Let's check it out!

          The excerpt:
I swallowed hard, my cheeks burning even as I started unbuttoning his tunic. The fabric was damp with sweat, sticking to his fevered skin as I peeled it away. His body was taut beneath my fingers, muscles flexing even in his weakened state.

          I hesitated.

          This was wrong.

          Or was it?

I had seen him shirtless before. We had bathed in the ocean together, wrestled in the fields, spent years side by side.

Hello Everyone! Here is an excerpt from WINTERING HEARTS—18th Chapter-The Kiss:

I didn’t know who moved first. Maybe it was him. Maybe it was me.
But suddenly, his lips were on mine.
The kiss was soft at first, hesitant, like he wasn’t sure if this was allowed, if we should stop.
          I didn’t want to stop.
I reached up, tangling my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer.
          His restraint snapped.
The kiss deepened, turning hungry, desperate. His hands found my waist, his grip firm. The world tilted as he rolled us again, his weight pressing me into the earth, into the warmth of the sun.
          I felt alive.
          I felt more than alive.
When we finally broke apart, we were both breathless.
Cail rested his forehead against mine, his fingers still splayed against my waist.
"This is dangerous," he murmured. It was not like Mother could see us. She was gone for now.
          I swallowed, nodding. "I don’t care."
He exhaled a soft laugh. "Of course you don’t."

His gaze lingered on my face, on the droplets clinging to my skin. Something passed between us, something unspoken.

"You always look different in the water," he murmured.

I swallowed, my heart hammering against my ribs. "Different how?"

He lifted a hand, brushing a stray curl from my cheek. "Like you belong to something bigger."

          CHAPTER FOURTEEN: The Dance— Excerpt
"We should stop," I whispered, though I didn't know why I said it.

A sweat on my chest glistened in the firelight and I noticed that some buttons of Cail's shirt were loosened, revealing features of muscles and a rapidly rising chest.

Cail's lips parted, he hesitated and jumped away. "Aye," he murmured.

I wanted to touch him, to comfort him. The look on his face changed from a beaming joy to a bitter expression.
