With that, my childhood has officially come to an end, this July 12th. As I reflect on my 17 years of experience, I would like to bring up a few notable people in my life, who have helped to influence me and the way I go about things in the current era.
Firstly, I would like to bring up Fene Anderson, of RNW Podcast and NCRF fame, for giving me a platform to help promote The Movement on Instagram. It ended its run with nearly 400 followers, something I am proud of.
Next up, I would like to mention a special friend of mine. That being DontAskCaroline. We’ve done a band together, she’s starred in my online works, and now, we’re following each other outside of this niche fanfiction site that brought us together in the first place. She is what drove me to consider being a novel write as a hobby, thanks to her consistent dedication to reading whatever I would read.
Mx. D. Silva was my favorite teacher in high school. She pushed me to learn about the political sphere of the world — amidst a second wave of trumpism in 2024-present, and I respect her for that.
Special shoutouts to some other friends I’ve made, including:
-Ms. Borrayo, who has helped me with college through and through.
-Kingdom Lynx—marking my first foray into the music scene.
-My mom and dad, who helped to raise this beautiful person you’re reading about right now.
-And lastly to my pet dog Gizmo, who passed away on May 9th. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him, and I’m sure I won’t stop for at least a while.
Fellas, take care of those who rely on you, in your family—I’m talking grandparents, pets, the disabled, and younger siblings—because as annoying as they can be, there’s no telling if they’ll survive to live another day or not.
Enjoy your own childhood while you still can, because life passes by a lot faster than you could expect, and often with surprises as well.
