For newcomers to this place, here's what age regression is all about
Age regression refers to a process when someone reverts to a younger state of mind. It can be a couple of years younger or even back to baby years.
It can happen involuntarily as a trauma response and reaction to stress, and can be a symptom of a mental condition (ex.: PTSD, BPD, Alzheimer's). People can also involuntarily age regress, because they just feel comfortable and safe enough at the moment, but there are many causes and age regression is not black-and-white, it is a wide spectrum. Someone can have only negative or only positive experiences with age regression, or both negative and positive.
Age regression can be used voluntarily as a coping mechanism to reclaim your childhood, feel cozy and cared for, and simply to be able to have fun.
The frequency of how often someone can or wants to age regress is individual. Some age regress once in a few months or every couple of days. There are also people who are permanently regressed (which can happen due to trauma, autism, brain trauma, etc.)
Age regressors may use objects and do activities that are associated with childhood, safety and nostalgia in order to regress more comfortably, such as — baby bottles, pacifiers, childhood snacks, coloring pages, watching cartoons and so on. Though, there are adults who regress to their teenage years, which can be significantly different for what they use and do during it.
Age regression can be experienced by both singlets and systems, and is not exclusive to any specific age range.
In other words, age regression is not a fetish, it is a coping mechanism
