When Fate Winked is now published! The next part will be updated a week from today. Wnjoy!

Also...does anyone have tips for making book covers? I'm woefully inexperienced, and usually take free pictures from the internet and edit them with my photo app. But I really want an amazing cover for When Fate Winked.

I also don't know how to weave my book theme into a picture, or how to make it stand out. So...any suggestions or advice would be welcomed. I would also not mind recommendations for people who commission things like this. (I'm a writer, not an artist. Lol.)

Hi, I would recommend using Canva.
You can find good covers there and also tweak them if you need to.

Guys...I don't understand my brain. Like...why...?

I fell asleep last night without meaning to at a super early time- before 8:00. I was so tired I wasn't even in pjs, and my light was still on. I woke up at midnight, changed, turned off my light, got comfy...couldn't sleep.

So after a solid hour, I decided to read. But I was not concentrating well so I switched to writing...

Y'all...I've written close to 5,000 words in the dead of night, and I'm freaking exhausted (thrilled and happy, but sooo tired). And can I sleep? Nope. Not a wink.

I think I need sleeping pills. Lol

@LarksintheGarden’s hello I was wondering what happened to butterfly kisses? I was enjoying the story and thought it was amazing

LarksintheGarden

@ashlynnthigpen Hello! Thank you for reading my book! I took it down because I haven't written anything for it in a long time and don't feel like I'm going to finish. I've thought about just leaving it up on my page, and letting people know it won't be completed, but I didn't feel happy about that either. I'm not sure what I will do with it, but for now it's simply in my drafts.

Okay guys...so...I had originally planned to launch my new book sometime this month since I will be graduating from college and will have more time to dedicate to writing. However, that won't happen until the middle of the month, and then holiday craziness will begin. So, to add some more cushion and prewritten chapters, I will be launching just after Christmas, on Sunday, December 29th.

Look out for When Fate Winked!

@Beezy1162Boo Thanks for the encouragement, Boo! I'm pretty excited for it myself!

Just wrote 1,475 words...

I don't know why my brain does this to me at such late hours of the night. Like...it's never at 7 PM, when I've got hours to work with...

          Anyway, I'm super excited.

Just to let y'all in on a tidbit...

I'm working on a poly, fantasy fiction that I cannot quit thinking about. The characters themselves are so interesting, but the action sequences and the plot lines get my creative juices flowing and I'm so stoked about it!

I plan to launch this book sometime in December, and I hope to have a few chapters written in advance so that I have some cushion just in case.

Anyway, thanks to anyone who is:

          A) Reading this.
          B) Following me.
          C) Planning to read the new book.
          D) Encouraging me along the way (you know who you are, and I'm beyond grateful for you!)

@LarksintheGarden I hope your week gets better, I totally understand what you mean. My week has been alright, but nothing to write home about.

I completely understand with the kid, my best friend has an aunt who has a kid and he’s about maybe 5 now and if I could snatch him and get him out of that hell hole I would. The poor baby’s teeth are already rotted out due to the fact that woman ( not even going to say mother ) makes him drink Mountain Dew doesn’t even let him really have water and we’ve called the state and CPS but they do nothing and he has gotten out 2 different times because she was to high out of her mind to realise. ( Definitely not saying this is anything close to your stepsister ) I get way too immature when it comes down including kids, you’re not alone there.

I’m so glad you can sleep in! Make sure you enjoy your long weekend, take a break and rest I know you’ve been working hard.

Thank you so much, I’m trying but you know how it is, haha.

We just moved so I don’t think I’m doing much, I think I’m going to volunteer to give people free food on thanksgiving. I love volunteer work for some reason it’s one of my favourite things, I think it’s because I don’t get paid for it and people always have the biggest smiles.

You got this, with the stepsister. Just make sure to breathe. There’s nothing wrong with needing to step out for an hour.

            How’s your day?

@Beezy1162Boo Just got done with Writing Club, and it's so fantastic. It's amazing how writing for an hour with a group inspires me. Each week people are able to come forward with their writing process, the roadblocks they've come across, or the creative flow they've found. We can commiserate or celebrate together, and the support is overwhelming! I just can't say enough about how much it has changed for me as a writer.

My stepsister is simply negligent. She let her four year old play around in the driveway and street without supervision, and my step dad had to snatch him up and talk to him about the dangers of playing in the road. I was livid.

The poor kid is starved for attention, wanders off, and gets into dangerous situations because his mom refuses to do her job. He lives off of fast food or the gas station because she won't cook for him, and he goes to her work because he's been kicked out of school for behavioral issues (that she's created). Her work is also very dangerous because she sends him outside by himself (at 4!) and it's a trailer yard so these huge trucks are moving around all day so they can get fixed. There's tons of machinery, scrap metal, etc., and everyone is worried about him because he's four and doesn't understand what is and isn't safe there.

He's very close with my mom (his Nana), me, and my sisters, but we are all very upset with the negligence and the haphazard "parenting" going on.

Anyway, today is a good day so far. I hope you have a great day as well! And hopefully you find some fulfillment in your volunteering adventures!

@Beezy1162Boo My therapist helped me remember that I'm just a human and I deserve the same understanding and compassion that everyone else does. And treating yourself once in awhile is a good thing.

Writing is definitely an outlet, but sometimes writer's block happens to me because I need a break in order for my creative juices to start flowing again.

LarksintheGarden

So...I joined a writing club that meets every Saturday morning for an hour or so. I cannot explain thr amount of motivational and educational support it provides! Today we did a 2 hour writing session since it's the first week of the month, and I wrote over 6,000 words!

I'm excited because once I'm done with school I feel like I will be much more consistent with publishing stories and having the time and inspiration to craft them.

Just wanted to mention how much it has helped me, and suggest it to any writers that struggle!

@Beezy1162Boo Same to you. Thanks for always checking in. <3

@LarksintheGarden Aww, thank you. I’m trying to take care of myself, just a little stressful. I have a hate love relationship with therapy but I’m so glad they helped you realise that. Thank you for telling me, I needed to hear that. Writing is definitely an outlet for me, I’ll start trying to take more breaks.

Make sure you’re always taking care of yourself! I might not know you in person but I do care about whoever is behind the screen. <3

@LarksintheGarden I’ve been alright, I’ve been in a writers block for a bit but I’m really excited for what I’m going to write and I might actually get an editor. I’m really nervous but so excited. School has been extremely stressful.

I completely understand what you mean, I’m so happy you were able to find more people! I know you’ll be able to accomplish and achieve your ambitions, I believe in you whole heartedly.

I’m so glad, I’ve missed talking with you!
