There's one thing I can't figure out about Thawne's reverse Flashpoint. After all the trouble he went through to create it, why would he allow a device with the potential to undo it exist? seriously, you'd think he'd prevent the PED from being created or at least destroy it, since he should've known that Barry would try to find a way to undo it. He shouldn't have left anything to chance, but since he did, it all backfired on him and left him in a lose lose situation. Either he dies or he loses his speed. Either, that one oversight led to the death of the Reverse Flash.

@Lauriver1fanboy i think that it was the fact that barry remembered how to build it since it was a similar device that they used to increase Barry's speed where he went to karas earth in season 2

I have a theory on that. We saw in legends that his face changing tech doesn't usually kill through the fact that Martin was still alive and didn't have any damage to his body. It shows its meant for infiltration ops. I think that when thawne took over wells's life with his face changer by stabbing a component into him it literally turned him into wells not just in face but in DNA overriding his own. So now there are two types of thawne the ones who are stuck being wells(what we've been getting season 4 of flash onwards)
          	  and the ones who still have the thawne lineage.

@Lauriver1fanboy The character is not dead yet, He returns in Legends of Tomorrow but it's that other actor. Not sure how to explain it but I'd had a theory, I'd think after crisis, there are now 2 of them, One has the Wells look while the other is the True Version of him.
