and damien. goddamn. so flipping hot ng character. pero beyond the obvious attraction, what really stood out for me is the consistency of his character. from the very beginning, he really gave off that impatient, blunt, intimidating, inexpressive energy. yung tipong tataasan ka lang ng kilay kapag pantanga yung tanong mo HAHAHA. and somehow, it never felt forced or exaggerated just to make him look cold. it actually made sense given his backstory and the environment he grew up in, which honestly makes me so sad because you can really see how much of him was shaped by what he had to go through.
kasi usually sa mga ganitong characters, once they fall in love, biglang 360° change. suddenly they're super expressive, clingy, overly sweet, and lovey-dovey. and don't get me wrong, we LOVE chalant kings pero hindi lang talaga iyon yung preference ko. i like it when a character can fall deeply in love without suddenly becoming an entirely different person.
and that's what i love about damien.
when he fell in love with seb, nandun pa rin yung damien. he was still blunt. still impatient. still intimidating. still not the type to verbalize every single emotion he had. he just learned another language for expressing it.

he's not perfect AND he's not supposed to be. may attitude talaga siya HAHAHA. but i think that's also why i love him. he's good in his own way. not because he's suddenly become this gentle, universally agreeable person, but because he chooses to be better without having to erase who he is. he doesn't need to become softer to prove that he loves seb. he just learned how to make the softness that's already there visible to him.
ibang klase talaga magmahal si damien. and i think that's exactly why seb fits him so well. seb brings out the softness in him without requiring him to become someone else, while damien loves seb without ever trying to dim the parts of him that make him seb.
they're just so different in the best possible way AUGHHGGGHGGGG

that's exactly what damien did with seb. he didn't become soft in the conventional sense. he became soft in his own way. he remembers things. he notices things. he acts instead of announcing what he's feeling. he shows up. he protects. he takes care of seb in ways that don't always look romantic at first glance. sometimes it's literally just him being there, doing something without being asked, or silently making sure seb is okay.
and i LOVE that he doesn't constantly glaze seb's kagaguhan HAHAHAHA. he will absolutely love that man with his whole heart and still tell him when he's being stupid. siya yung type na, “i love you, but what the hell are you doing?” HAHAHA. he doesn't excuse everything seb does just because he's in love with him. kaya yung love niya feels grounded.
hindi rin siya suddenly naging super soft towards seb. may tough love pa rin. may pagsaway. may sarcasm. may eye rolls. may pagka-irita. but underneath all of that, you can tell na sobrang lambot pala ng puso niya para sa taong mahal niya.

pasok na pasok talaga siya sa wattpad standards, pero hindi siya yung type ng character na parang too good to be true or so unreachable na parang wala namang ganitong tao in real life. that's what i love about Seb. there's just something about his character that makes me feel like somewhere out there, may kagaya talaga niya.
sobrang ganda kasi ng pagkakabuo ng personality niya huhu hindi lang siya green flag because the story tells us he is. he actually feels like a well-built, fully realized person. may GMRC. may empathy. may basic human decency. marunong makiramdam. marunong umintindi. marunong mag-adjust. and most importantly, genuinely may care siya sa mga tao around him.
dati bet na bet ko yung trope na masama ugali sa lahat pero sayo lang mabait. pero habang mas nakikilala ko si Seb, narealize ko na mas nakakakilig pala talaga yung lalaking mabait hindi dahil special ka but because that's simply who he is. mabait siya sa lahat. maalaga siya sa lahat. hindi niya kailangang maging cold or intimidating just to seem masculine. and thank ghad, wala siyang fragile masculinity.
hindi rin siya yung typical na “mabait” na soft-spoken, prim and proper, always composed, or afraid to say anything wrong. he can be makulit. dang yabang din and hindi sobrang filtered yung bibig. he has his own personality and flaws. pero alam niya kung kailan kailangan magsalita nang maayos, kailan dapat makinig, at kailan kailangan maging considerate. hindi niya kailangang maging perfect para maging good person.

kaya gets na gets ko rin si Dam kung bakit mahal na mahal niya. kasi paano ka ba naman hindi mahuhulog sa taong ganon? he's so easy to love. so easy to be around. so easy to make happy. parang hindi mo kailangang mag-effort nang sobra para mahalin ka niya because he already knows how to give love so naturally.
if only there were more Sebs in the world, i feel like there'd be so many more Dams who get to experience that kind of love.
i hope i get to have my own Seb someday :)) because after reading him, ang hirap na bumalik sa bare minimum.

idk what's wrong with my head pero sa current situation ni dam and seb, gusto ko magselos or like magtampo si seb TT guys remember yung scene na gusto niyang gumala sila ni dam pero ayaw talaga tas sagot niya na lang “hindi na po, sorry” huhu iba talaga magtampo yan siya. legit na pag nagstop mangulit yung makulit, medyo raaaaa. yung pov niya pati na feeling niya sobrang kulit niya na and pushy, dang sakit niya sa heart. wala lang, my bebe Seb :(((
kaya gusto ko lang siya masaktan slight tapos makikita ni dam na nasasaktan si seb tapos siya naman ang hahabol (kahit hindi na grovel, kahit habulin niya lang din pls). wala lang, althroughout the book kasi ay seb talaga yung naghahabol (wait ko na lang din pov ni dam hihi)
konting sakit para ibang sakit naman dadanasin ni seb hihihi
