@Kandyapple I do not agree with review. They did fall in love & get to the intercourse quickly, but that added to the plot. It caused friction. They didn't get to know one another as deeply as they could have, which led to a bunch of misunderstandings.
A good book doesn't necessarily need to follow the restrictions that critic said were necessary.
A good book doesn't necessarily need a villain.
An antagonist is an opposing force- a FORCE. 'A force' doesn't automatically mean human.
If u had added a villain, the plot would have become convoluted because the book already has an antagonist- their miscommunication and subsequent misunderstandings. These were the things that helped push the plot forward.
I, for one, love this story. It was one of the first boyxboy (well, manxboy, but u know what I mean lol) stories I ever read. I recently reread it, & I still think it's excellent. Ollie & Ian will always have a special place in my heart.
