          "She heard the shower running as she lay there, a thin layer of sweat gathering on her forehead—the only sign of what had happened moments earlier. A single line of light seeped through the gap beneath the bathroom door, faintly illuminating the room. She pulled down her skirt and saree, rolling off the bed just as she heard the door open.
          
          She walked past him slowly, breathing in the scent of his body wash—an aroma she had grown used to over the past eight years. Familiar, but distant. A scent that carried no trace of her, as if she had never truly been allowed to settle into his life.
          
          She stepped into the bathroom and paused before the mirror. Another middle-class housewife. A body etched with the marks of bringing two lives into the world. Another forgettable face in the crowd. A mother, a daughter-in-law, a daughter, a wife…?
          
          A wife, she wondered, or merely a presence beside him.

          It's been so long, it's sure unsettling how time flies by. I don't know why but Rohini and Adithya's love story seem to be hidden from me, maybe I'll find it but for now I'm putting that story on hold. I'm going to write something entirely different and I sure hope you guys will love it.
