So I've been delaying the release of Imperial Reach: Awakening. It's ready to begin serialization, minus the last of cover art. To give you an idea of the current progress, the second act has started.

The problem I'm having with Awakening isn't the contents - I am significantly more confident in this, in fact! It's the fact that my writing has drastically slowed down. I'm trying to get my footing in a new life, and unfortunately, a lot of Imperial Reach has paid the price for it. Ironically, the more this happens, the more I'm convinced that Imperial Reach is where my creative energy SHOULD be going. I want to expand the universe as much as possible, turn it into my primary creative identity. That means I want to write books, make games, do whatever I can to tell about the setting.

IR has expanded in my mind to an extent where I don't even want to call it just that. "Imperial Reach" is the collection of stories discussing the fall of the Eskan empire at the hands of The Revolution. However, I'm interested in having the stories of this setting expand beyond politics. If I make a game out of it, I don't intend on having the State or Revolution play a major role in it at all.

As it is right now, Imperial Reach will only die with me. Awakening is still happening - though I am definitely considering other sites to release it on, first. Give it time, and I promise, this will be the beginning of something truly excellent.

Outlines for the Imperial Reach Trilogy are coming along beautifully, with Awakening's outline about 70% complete, Vengeful Heart being already partially written, and Song of Revolution starting to take form. I hope everybody enjoys Jora, Argo, and Cavallo in their respective adventures!

That said: while there is certainly Vengeful Heart content ready to be released, I am going to delay it until after Awakening has finished its run to prevent confusion and spoilers. This saga has been far too long in the making for me to botch its release by spoiling a third of the story!

While the contents are heavily JoJo inspired, the structure is a mix of a variety of sources, that is to say the final trilogy will look a bit odd! Besides the obvious shonen influence, the trilogy itself is taking a bit from the original Star Wars trilogy (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi). On an individual entry level, these stories are inspired by the original Polaris Garden, Sherlock Holmes, and American politics respectively.

All three are being written slowly simultaneously in order to help fight burnout and keep the experience fresh. I'm sure we're all sick of me saying it by now, but I'll say it again - Imperial Reach is being delayed. I really, truly want nothing more than for this series to be great.

That said, I'm also looking at releasing it across multiple platforms. At the very least, there will be a Wattpad version and a TH version, though any differences between these will be merely formatting. After the trilogy releases, I intend on reaching out to Fenris Publishing to see about getting physical copies that could be sold at conventions. The Fenris version, if it happens, would be the most different version. While the stories should remain the same, many names will have to be changed due to copyright... which means the Wattpad/TH versions are the true IR canon.

"He heard the rett were once a proud people.

What pride was there to be had in this?

A steady stream of smoke escaped his lips as pedestrians gave passing looks of disgust. Surely, it wouldn't be long until the police arrived - his watch had counted an hour since he'd taken his post. Cops didn't like rett, and the feeling was mutual. The fewer encounters with law enforcement, Kilroy figured, the better his odds of survival were.

Shame there wasn't much he could do to change that.

He watched as a woman dressed in a cool magenta sweater stepped out of a nearby coffee shop and crossed the street. On her chest rested a familiar trap-shaped broach, glinting in the afternoon sun. Only looking at the path ahead, she made her way up to the alley, turning down it with a determined step.

"About time," Kilroy growled, his eyes stabbing like knives at the eskan woman, "You know I can't wait here all day."

"And you know my schedule's packed! Come on." Argo rolled her eyes, holding out a paper bag for the rett. His hands greedily reached for it, grabbing the sides and yanking it close to him. She grinned as he dug into the bag, taking out a donut and viciously biting into it.

"Not my problem! … This one's goood, what flavor is it~?"

Kilroy's words were muffled with the chewing of donut, a spark of energy reignited in his eyes as he spoke as if excessive sugar had pumped his heart back into life. Stadler couldn't help but stifle a laugh as his attention was split.

"Caramel glaze. Thought I'd change it up for you. Now, about that meeting."

The rett blinked, giving a final gulp before veering his focus back to his initial topic.

"Ahh, right! Yeah, so… you're sure you want to do this? Can't go back, and if anyone else knows…"

"Don't worry. I've kept it between us.""
          - Vengeful Heart, Session 01: The House of the Rising Sun
          Due 2025

VH Session 01 will not be published until 4 is finished. Vengeful Heart will feature an Act format. There will be three Acts - Act 1 featuring Sessions 1-4, Act 2 featuring Sessions 5-8, and Act 3 featuring Sessions 9-12.

Vengeful Heart Sessions will be posted weekly, with a gap between Acts lasting until I finish the final chapter of that Act. You can think of an Act as kind of similar to a season of a TV show.

The story of Vengeful Heart will end at Act 3. After these have all been posted, I will be reaching out to Fenris Publishing to see if they may be interested in this saga. Depending on how things go from there, all sorts of things become possible - best case scenario, you'll be able to purchase Imperial Reach books at your local furry conventions! There are noticable differences between my PDF copies of Vengeful Heart chapters and what will be posted here - Fenris Publishing is most likely going to involve some slight name changes for copyright protection, but granting the benefit of including every quirk to how I format my stories. I can tell you right here and right now that some of the tools I'm using to write Vengeful Heart like playing with fonts and word sizes simply cannot be done on Wattpad... but most likely will become possible with an actual publisher.

10 years ago, I swore I'd write something that would get published. The honor, hopefully, will go to Vengeful Heart.

Depending on how well Vengeful Heart goes, I may attempt a proper reimagining, much more akin to the original, of Polaris Garden - this time titled "From The Void."

Vengeful Heart will determine the future of Imperial Reach, and if I decide to continue with the universe, From the Void will be a much more planned and structured take on Polaris Garden.

Long silence, I know. Life's been a rollercoaster for these past few months.

The next IR releases will all be Vengeful Heart. I'm working on outlines and drafts, but it is currently my second priority behind the STARFLY 13 game.

Vengeful Heart will be both traditional writing akin to Polaris Garden and Redwater Riot as well as a webcomic featuring art from at least two artists, including myself. That's what it's looking like so far, at least.

I'll say more when there's more to be said.

LectroNyx

I only publish here, on LectroNyx.PAGE, and (hopefully soon!) through publishing companies.

I refuse to use "Neobook" or most publishing sites, as keeping too many sources for my content up will make it too hard for me to keep track of. Anything that advertises or hires through Wattpad is completely out of the picture.

LectroNyx

Again, I can't do this. Redwater Riot just isn't it.
I'm going back to the drawing board. Vengeful Heart is still being planned, but it is not going to replace Redwater Riot.

Imperial Reach Part One: Awakening will.

It's closer to Polaris Garden in content.
I'll figure out some way to be happy with my work, eventually.

I dropped PG because while I liked the story, I hated the execution and universe.
I dropped RWR because while I liked the universe, I hated the story.
          go figure.

Awakening is very firmly on the bench for now, but a third Polaris Garden rewrite is not currently one of my priorities.

So I've gone over this at length on the Discord, but for those not present:

Redwater Riot is on a hiatus, and will be until I feel I have a sufficient upload queue (I want at least 4 chapters lined up). The reason for this is a combination of burnout on this story, in particular, as well as my beginning work on another Imperial Reach story, currently called "Cobalt Crusade."

Cobalt Crusade is going to be an entirely different medium, taking on a more visual aspect than anything I'd ever done for storytelling - a comic. As a result, I do not believe Wattpad is an appropriate place for its initial serialization. That said, a Wattpad version of Cobalt is likely, especially if I decide to include some more traditionally written chapters to help fill out the setting and characters without further delaying the main story.

Imperial Reach is my heart and soul, and I promise you that you will be seeing much more of it in the future - even if it takes a little longer for the time being.

Redwater Riot Chapter 10: *Blue Monday* is now out!

Taking off on a boat with a member of a local revolutionary group, Jora encounters an unexpected enemy.

It's important to me that echo encounters are exciting. I don't know if I'm able to put someone on the edge of their seat with just words, but I really like the idea of it.
