What did I miss while I was gone

I feel kinda weird now that Ash is the champion. Like I'm happy for the man but like, where the fuck is the show going next? A childhood show like this just ending just affects me in a weird way. 

At this point I feel like OPM fans would reanimated the whole series if they don't like the animation.
