After hearing Jay’s message, I realised how much the protest must be hurting the remaining members. At first, I thought Heeseung had been forced out of the group, which is why I was part of the protest. But after Jay’s clear message, I started to feel like it might have been Heeseung's own choice.
"Enhypen is Enhypen."
Maybe I, along with some other OT7 engenes, were just trying to protect ourselves—because we were too scared to accept the reality. But now I realise that these protests are hurting the members too.
Imagine them going live to talk to fans, and all they see in the comments is Heeseung. In everything they do, instead of support, they’re constantly reminded of something heavy. At first, I thought the protests would only affect the company, but now I see that they’re affecting the members themselves.
It must feel like they’re living in Heeseung’s shadow, especially when they’re not getting the support they need the most.
To me, Enhypen will always be seven. I’ll just think of it as Heeseung being on a long hiatus—call me delusional, it’s fine. But I promise myself that I’ll support both Heeseung and Enhypen in every way I can.
At the same time, there’s still something I hope for—that they don’t try erase him. Maybe he’s not part of Enhypen anymore, but he was before. He is their hyung, part of their memories, part of their journey. And I don’t think they should have to act careful or hesitant just to mention him… as if he was never there.
Enhypen has started to move forward, and I think, as engenes, we should too—because right now, the protests are only hurting the remaining members.
