Itās been around 10 days since the first PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN concert, and I still canāt stop thinking about everything that happened.
First of all, I understand why many people were disappointed. The concert was shorter than expected, the setlist repeated several songs, and a lot of fans felt the production didnāt match the ticket price. Those feelings are valid, and fans have every right to express them.
But what I donāt understand is why some people decided to turn that disappointment into hate toward CORTIS and other fans.
This was CORTISā first-ever world tour. Theyāre still rookies with a small discography, and the members themselves are incredibly young. Theyāre only around 17, 18, and 21 years old. Theyāre still growing as artists, learning what works, and gaining experience. No artist has a perfect first tour.
Iāve also seen people making fun of the mosh pit and saying the people enjoying themselves were āpaid dancersā or āfake fans.ā Whether those rumors are true or not, why is it so hard to believe that some fans genuinely wanted to enjoy the concert the way CORTIS envisioned it?
From the teasers, performances, and even the name PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN, CORTIS made it pretty clear they wanted fans to be present in the moment. Their music has always had strong hip-hop and festival energy. Songs like TNT practically invite people to jump, move, and have fun together. A mosh pit wasnāt something completely randomāit fit the atmosphere they had been building.
That doesnāt mean everyone has to like moshing. If itās not your thing, thatās completely okay. But people who enjoyed it shouldnāt be mocked or called fake fans just because they experienced the concert differently.

Sometimes I wonder if CORTIS can tell the difference between toxic solo fans and the coers who genuinely love and support all five members. I really hope they can.
There are so many of us who support them quietly. We laugh with them, cry with them, celebrate every achievement, and look forward to every piece of content they release. Even if weāre far away, our support is real.
What also stayed with me was seeing Keonho perform while injured. Even with casts on both hands, he still did everything he could to give fans a good performance. That alone shows how much the members cared about the concert. Whether people liked the production or not, you could see the effort they put into being on that stage.
At the end of the day, itās okay to criticize the company. Itās okay to be disappointed. But thereās a difference between criticizing the planning and attacking the members or other fans.
I just hope CORTIS knows that the loudest voices online donāt represent all of us. There are still countless coers around the world who genuinely love all five members, appreciate their hard work, and will continue supporting them as they grow.
This was only the beginning of their journey, not the end of it. Theyāre young, theyāre learning, and I truly believe theyāll continue to grow into even better performers and artists. No amount of negativity can change why I became a fan in the first place.

Another thing I personally donāt understand is the criticism about repeating songs.
Yes, I know some people found it boring, and thatās okay. Everyone has different expectations. But this was their first world tour, and they only have around 12 official songs. Personally, I didnāt mind hearing the songs again. We replay our favorite songs every day on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube because we love them. So why is it suddenly a problem when those same songs are performed live?
If repeating songs isnāt your thing, thatās completely fine. But for me, hearing my favorite song live more than once wouldnāt ruin the experience. Iād sing along every single time. Iād rather hear CORTIS perform their own songs than force themselves to add random covers just to make the setlist longer.
