Thank you for the warm welcome! I seriously love this story so much. The relationship between Kimiko and Endeavor is incredibly complex, especially since they share similar powers. I’m certain that when he looks at her, he sees Touya. But instead of recognizing his mistake the first time and confronting it, he ends up repeating the same things with Kimiko. It’s like he believes that by breaking her down with humiliation, she might eventually give up on becoming a hero. Kimiko is, quite literally, a living reminder of his failure as a father .
From Touya/Dabi’s point of view, I have this theory: after his confrontation with Kimiko, he realized she was actually stronger than him. (I mean, let’s be honest—a five-year-old girl causing that kind of explosion? That’s rare. )Touya always found comfort in the idea that his flames were stronger than his father’s, and that maybe, through that, he could finally be acknowledged by him. But then comes Kimiko—Shoto’s twin—who not only has a body built to withstand fire, but also turns out to be even more powerful than him. That must’ve hurt deeply, just like his jealousy toward Shoto did.
