Okay, so boom—chapters 1-4 are officially out, and I just wanted to chat with you all about them!
Let’s start with Meilani. Even though she’s been waiting for this moment for years, she’s still completely thrown off when it actually happens. She doesn’t know how to act at first—just dives in headfirst without even thinking about what she’s going to do when she finally meets Leonardo. I wanted to explain her reaction in case anyone was confused.
Now, let’s talk about Leo. From the moment he meets Meilani, he’s intrigued. He finds her stunning and genuinely wants to get to know more about her. That’s not something he’s used to because, usually, when girls talk to him, they’re interested in him for all the wrong reasons.
And, yes, I did cringe while writing the classic “She’s not like the others” moment, but hey—you gotta do what you gotta do.
I also wanted to clarify Leo’s perspective on Meilani because I know it might seem like he’s already completely fixated on her after just meeting. And that’s both true and not true at the same time. Leo doesn’t trust people easily. He only trusts Meilani to a certain extent because, let’s be real, he knows absolutely nothing about her yet. He’s very aware of what he’s feeling, but he doesn’t think those feelings are important. In his mind, they’ll probably just fade away, so why even bother? He is a natural flirt, tho he matches the energy meilani gives out
Back to Meilani—she’d never had friends outside of her cousin, so spending time with Leo, laughing and joking with someone else for once, felt different for her. But no matter what, she keeps trying to stay focused on her mission. And that’s hard because she knows Leo is innocent in all of this, yet the hatred she has for his father still pushes her forward. She wants him to feel the same pain she did.
