I've been a keen observer of wildlife and the natural world all my life, and as for cats I've known them as far back as I can remember. Academically not the greatest achiever, but early-year passes in English Language, Literature, History and Geography. Later studied Methods of Modern Journalism, Media, and took a hands-on course in Radio Production, as well as studying Ethics (this is something which I continue to do, even though the formal course was some years ago). Various and other studies.
Have worked in the past as everything from ODA in Casualty Theatre to quality control inspector, and from care officer to car salesman (for which read dogs-body!). This is a wide-ranging area, but I've also been heavily involved with the written word, far beyond "The Diary of Somebody In Particular", and was also one-time joint-ed and arts-ed of a local mag. Other stuff, fiction and poetry wise, is a world away from the Diary, hence one need for a pseudonym. Also worked in the past as a free-lance photo journalist (and almost got blown up in the process!). Never employ me, however, as an export clerk---I was a disaster! Sending goods intended for the US to Italy wasn't a good move on the promotional front! Age? Please! Suffice to say I've no idea where the decades went----it just happened while I wasn't looking., as it does for all of us unfortunately. I think I'll leave it at that then, but thanks for taking the time to read this, such as it is, and cheers! (Bill Goldman).
Why so much dialogue when so few speech marks? This is deliberate. Written-up as a diary, it struck me as perfectly proper to wrtie accordingly. "He-said-she-said" doesn't tend to appear in most genuine diaries, so I figured it shouldn't here. Simply, a diary tends to be loose, not novelistic, yeah? It was simply a device then to lend authenticity of realism. Hope it works, and thanks to readers. Technical matters and health issues delayed quicker completion. Sorry!
