I'm not really part of the Miraculous Ladybug fandom anymore, but I do check up on it now and then just to see any new developments, but don't actually watch the episodes most of the time. I find the fan comics a hell of a lot more entertaining than the actual show (that's actually pretty sad.) I've thought this about Chat for a long while BUT MAN, can I just say:

Also, if you're wondering which side of the love square I like the most, then it's 100% Marichat. I mean, honestly, it just brings out the best in the both of them. Chat is the version of Adrien that gets to be free-spirited and not held by the boundaries of his father, where he can be his true self. And Mari (while not around Adrien), contrast to Chat/Adrien, is the version of herself where she's her true self. She's not being Ladybug, which means that she's not being weighed down by expectations, and where she can just be Marinette, the girl behind the mask. And man, but them together and BOOM; Ideal relationship. Their interactions are much more natural and genuine since Chat's looking at Mari, not Ladybug, and Mari's looking at Chat, not Adrien. Not to mention, their interactions would be 1000x more beneficial since they're getting to know each other, without even realizing that they're actually each other's soulmate.
Not to mention, Ladybug is a JERK to Chat. Seriously, while I have no doubt that she trusts him, I would be very reluctant to say that she respects him.

@YeetDeleteThis DUDE, I love MariChat. I don't completely agree with the fact that she's only attracted to the fact that he's a model, because I do think that she recognizes some of his good characteristics, but I do agree that she should know him better. MariChat is just the most genuine ship.

@LexPex_thefangirl Yes yes yes yes yes thanks for saying this lol. I never shipped mari x Adrien since Adrien isnt into her and her attraction to him seemed to be based off of him being a hot model and I never shipped lady and Chat since Lady is a total a-hole to him. But I did notice myself liking the Mari and Chat scenes waaaaay more than the Mari and Adrien scenes. Idk if u saw the whole new love interest thing come in but I it's my new otp lol

@10073890cg I'm glad you see you agree! And yeah, I would probably still be watching the show if they incorporated more MariChat scenes. We really didn't get any scenes in S1 and the ones we did get were brief and didn't hold much weight. S2 was the season that actually felt like it was finally acknowledging MariChat, even by just a little. I also I wish it wasn't so heavily a kid targeted show, because for as overly used as the show's concept is, the characters and motivations could hold so much more weight and be brought to light a lot more. But, no. They're limiting their storytelling potential because "it's a kids show." Which I'm not blaming them for, I just think it's pretty sad. I swear, Zag should've kept with the dark anime version of the show.
