Because you also write about basketball, maybe you can help me untangle this mess:

I might be wondering whether Heather (a teammate of the FMC) should transfer out of Venomous Agendas High; VA thereafter); she started acting like a bitch towards the FMC after the season ended (by obsessing over getting her to play in the Ivy League after graduation and later questioning the FMC's commitment to basketball). Here are my options (assuming that no other character is affected, off the court, by a potential transfer):

1: Have Heather stay at VA (will keep the VAs' basketball team competitive for next season, but will make the FMC sour on Heather even further)
2: Have Heather transfer out, and outside the district (will make the FMC's life easier off the court, but hurt the VAs' basketball team for next season, and Heather's new team may not play the VAs unless both make the state tournament, which cannot be taken for granted)
3: Have Heather transfer out, but within the district (will make the FMC's life easier off the court, but hurt the VAs' basketball team for next season, and Heather's new team will the VAs, and rub it into the FMC when the new team will next play VA, in the final third of the regular season, possibly with playoff implications)

            1. Have Heather stay at VA: This option would allow for the VAs to maintain their competitive edge in basketball, but it may also make the FMC's life more difficult due to Heather's behavior towards her.
            2. Have Heather transfer out, and outside the district: This option would remove the tension between the FMC and Heather, but it may also have negative consequences for the VAs' basketball team.
            3. Have Heather transfer out, but within the district: This option would allow for the FMC to maintain a distance from Heather, but it would also create a potentially difficult situation for the VAs' basketball team to face their former teammate multiple times throughout the season.
Ultimately, the decision should be based on what is best for the FMC and the story. If the focus is on the basketball aspect of the story, then having Heather stay at VA may be the most effective option. If the focus is on the FMC's personal growth and relationships, then having Heather transfer out may be the best choice.
