Head canon that Wilbur was originally just William Soot (no middle name)  but after  seeing Hamilton he was like, Hippity Hoppity, your name is now my property, and chose the middle name Burr, like Aaron. He shortened his name to Wilbur, but Phil and Tommy, who knew him from before, still call him Will sometimes.
