Hi everyone. (This one’s gonna be a doozy)
So, if you’ve read Shredder’s Daughter, you’ve probably seen my open letter. If not, this isn’t going to make a ton of sense.
I try to be an advocate for abuse survivors, and I think the best way to change something is to talk about it. I’m not trying to glorify it in any way, but writing helps me to work through my feelings and what happened to me. I know for many, that doesn’t work, and that’s fine. It just helps me.
I want to shout out @Evil-Bat-Cat and their story “Mend the Broken Spirit”. They were incredibly brave to put that out there, and it shows the very real effects of child abuse. I recommend you all go read it. I know it’s not pleasant, but if we talk about it, we are one step closer to helping the next child who needs it.
