Hi! I grew up in a bilingual house of ASL and English. (My Mom teaches ASL and taught @ a deaf school, we have deaf family friends) If this comes off as offensive in any way I am so so sorry. But hearing aids don’t make you (for lack of a better word) magically hear, neither do cochlear implants.
Based on the level of deafness (If you cant hear a thing, or if you can hear some loud noises) hearing aids will help in different ways. If your deafness is extreme, the hearing aid helps you hear some loud noises. (If someone slams a door, If a truck honks it’s horn)
If your deafness is less extreme, then a hearing aid could help you hear voices or other prominent sounds.
CIs are very technologically based, it makes sounds more robot like.
