I am a 31 year old Female living in a small town on the coast of KZN. I have 2 Children that inspire me to write everyday! I started reading at the age of 2 and Writing at the age of 12. I am currently busy with a Novel, however up until this point I have written countless short stories, flash fiction, poetry, blogs and what I like to call "Ramblings of my chaotic mind". I have entered many writing competitions and always made the short list until being awarded first place this year in an International Writing Competition held by Jon Elkon - an Internationally recognized author who has published several books including his most famous "Umfaans Heroes" and "Lazlo's Millions" - this competition was Judged by Authors - Laura Sebastian of the Ash Princess Series and Joie Davidow of The Unofficial Marriage. I have also had 3 poems published in an international online poetry magazine called Ariel Chart. My love for using metaphors has been a tough one for some readers but I hope to continue to urge people to imagine and ponder the meaning. While I am chronically ill with Chronic pain, Writing has always been my escape. I own an online Bookstore as well as Teach English to the Chinese. My favorite color is Yellow and my *Life Mantra is "Catch the Yellow" - I advocate for mental health, invisible illnesses and Cystic Fibrosis which I lost my partner to in February of this year. Although my Writing is fictional, much of it is based on true events. I am the Owl Lady not the Cat Lady and I am hopelessly inlove with the moon. Books I enjoy are "Based on True Events" " Psychological Thrillers" and very specific Romance. I am also a qualified Care Giver and I am studying towards becoming a counselor in many fields.
