New chapter!
I'm almost done with my first round of edits, which is pretty exciting. The only problem is that I got better at editing as I went, so I think I need to go back and fix up some of the beginning again. oh well... more editing for me
New chapter! A bit of a delay in posting this one but it was also really long. Also, I'm trying to catch up on my Goodreads challenge haha. Just finished Hummingbird Salamander by Jeff Vandermeer - it was pretty good but his book Annihilation was better. If you haven't read that and are looking for an absolutely wild ride pls do cause it's the best.

Hello! Apologies for the gap in posting, its a bit chaotic at home right now so I haven't been able to write as much as I want to. But, I've got the rest of the afternoon (so at least a couple hours) so I'll be hopefully able to catch up!
The goal is still to finish the first round of edits by the end of July but... not feeling too confident about that. By end of August for sure though. Enjoy the newest chapter!!
New chapter! I've been editing but this chapter just needed a full rewrite so I finally got to do some writing again which was lovely. It's also such a good feeling to know that practicing has definitely made me better. I first wrote these chapters nearly 6 months ago and have certainly become a better writer since then. So yay! Progress! Anyways, enjoy the new chapter!
New chapter up! I had a lot of trouble with this chapter because dialogue has never been my strong suit. It's hard to feed emotion into, especially when those emotions are very complex. Let me know if you have any suggestions on making it better or tips about dialogue in general :)
@Clayton_Bell of course! Mine's also high fantasy so it looks like our stories are in the same area :) I'll def try to check it out when I get a chance
I just read Stephen King's "On Writing", his memoir/manual about what it means to be a writer and how to be a better writer, and I just wanted to say that I would absolutely recommend it. It gave me a lot of good ideas on how to improve my own writing but was also just a great read. It had me laughing out loud but also was deeply serious and honest about the way things are and the way they can be. It's pretty well acclaimed so this is no unique opinion but I thought I'd throw it into the ether in case anyone else didn't know and wanted to :)
Also new chapter up!! It's a bit shorter than most but has Weave in it again and I love writing her. Is it bad to say that she's my favorite? That feels like a betrayal to everyone else but it's true. Enjoy!
@bookstore_assassin Of course!! Haha yeah they're definitely a lot. My favorite is Revival but if you're looking for one a good one to start with then I would recommend the Dark Tower series (gunslinger is the first book). It's incredibly good writing and is more dark fantasy than horror which I like much better :) Its also not a billion pages so that's a plus
@LillianCarrierN that sounds like a great book! thanks for the rec :) have you read his other stuff? ngl I'm a little intimidated by some of them but they sound interesting
New chapter up! The goal this month is to finish the first round of edits on my book. So by the end of the month (with luck!) the whole thing should be posted! It will be by no means done... but I hope it will be a good start.
Wish me lots of luck and motivation so I don't procrastinate. Also pls give it a read and tell me what you think! That way when the second round of edits comes around I can make it better.
