I am an indie writer, and I am republishing my fifth year Harry Potter fic, 
 "Secrets, Lies and the Daily Prophet" here. 

I had been a part of the online HP fandom when the series was still incomplete. I engaged in deep literary analysis, spun my own wacky theories and debated ship. (I was the 2nd chair on the H/Hr ship in the first HP Symposium "Nimbus" held in Orlando, Florida in 2003. My fandom name was Pallas Athena or just Athena). I began researching someone else's theory that hippogriffs were a symbol of love. That led to my reading the epic poem "Orlando furioso." because Ludovico Ariosto was the first author to use  a hippogriff as a character in literature.

The poem is a sprawling epic filled with multiple interweaving plot threads, grandiose battle scenes, magic, and larger than life characters. Among all the various subplots, I was drawn toward the love story of Bradamante and Ruggiero. Both were renowned warriors, but on opposing sides of a holy war. 

Bradamante is a kick-ass heroine who is sent on a quest to rescue her beloved being held prisoner by a wizard. That was written 502 years ago!

After I finished reading the poem, I felt cheated that I had never heard of this amazing heroine from literature. I decided to use my writing talents to adapt that poem into a trilogy for modern day audiences.

My first novel in the series is, "Quest of the Warrior Maiden." Volume two will be coming out this fall. It will be titled "Fate of the Saracen Knight."
