There are many words one can use to describe Lindokuhle Nkosikhona (GEe) Shandu as he is a multifaceted individual who has a broad perspective to life, and thinks outside of the box when creating his craft, or when he has to solve problems. He is a poet, photographer, and multimedia editor. Lindokuhle is kind, a good listener, self-motivated, and a vibrant artist. As a child he learned of the love he had for nature and that element is still evident today.
In the early years of high school, he became interested in attending poetry sessions. This inspiration brought forth a passion and love for poetry. He started writing poetry and attending competitions. In the year 2015 he won his first poetry competition; the Ekurhuleni Slam Poetry competition.
His love of words was not the only thing that grasped his intrigue.
He incorporates the elements of nature in his photography, generating movement and patterns in his creations. The concept of how photography could freeze time fascinated him, so he continued taking pictures.
After high school, he worked hard on his poetry and photography skills. He then later became part of an organisation called Umuzi.org, where he got the opportunity to collaborate with other artists creatively, work as a recruit photographer, and was a videographer. While working at Umuzi.org he was offered an internship at mail and guardian for three months where he worked as a multi-media editor. After completing the one-year programme at Umuzi.org he worked as a facilitator and head of multimedia for Jozi Book Fair (under Khanya College).
He currently works as the head of multimedia at Habitat61.
