Just hopping on here to say farewell to Wattpad. My time here was brief; sometimes pleasant, but mostly hellish ;)

It pains me when people of colour and those belonging to LGBTQ groups aggressively love Sarah J Maas, because she doesn't deserve that love. Her books have little to no representation for an author who's been writing for nearly a decade now and has over 12 published works. 12. I dare you to name 6 LGBT relationships. No? Name three. No? Tell me one, powerful LGBT relationship.

Guess what? There's NONE. There are only references, and most of it amount to queer-baiting.

And the whole Face male possessiveness and dominance thing? Vomit-worthy.

Then there are authors like Leigh Bardugo who readily accept that they've made mistakes in the past by writing about straight, white characters and actually work toward remedying it. That's why people love Six of Crows. Not just because of the crackling prose and the cool plot. And Samantha Shannon? She's an absolute genius.

I'm not saying you CAN'T love Sarah's works. I'm saying you can, but you need to acknowledge the problems in them. I love it too - I always will, because Aelin was the first female heroine to capture my heart. But I really can't stay quiet when people call her the "Queen of Fantasy".

@Linneae_Liam my thoughts exactly. That 6 page monologue of mor felt so unnatural. If she way actually a lesbian, wouldn’t Sjm have included a couple of scenes where she admired the attractiveness of women before? Wouldn’t she have hinted at it? (She foreshadows so much, anyway.) I suppose this was the only sjm plot twist that was actually a shock to me.... because it just dropped out of the sky. Literally.

            Sure, diversity points to her.

@Linneae_Liam I haven’t given Six of Crows too much of a chance, but the writing style threw me off. I might get back to it though because people have been raving about it forever

Hey guys! I hope you're having a great Halloween!

So I actually popped by to say that I'll be participating in my first ever Nanowrimo this year (yippee!) to draft a Fantasy novel, and I'm super excited for November to just start already! (In fact, at the time of writing, it's 11:00 in the night, 31st of October, so there's that).

I've been more active on my tumblr blog recently, and I've decided to chronicle my experiences, my ups and downs in writing, if anyone is interested. This next month will be heavily focussed on Nanowrimo, and I'll be open to question and debates! You can find the link to my blog in my bio!

Good luck to everybody participating this year!

I took the potter more test and got sorted into... SLYTHERIN. :D
Can't say I'm upset - but can say I'm very pleased, because boy I have been writing really evil stuff recently, and my protagonists are rebellious and grey.

But it IS funny, because I took the test two years ago and got sorted into Gryffindor? I wasn't sure I'd done it right because people agreed that I was definitely a Ravenclaw. Funnily enough, I got the polar opposite - Slytherin!
