We've had some good questions come up in our messages and we would like to announce the answers.

We do not allow Mature books in our competition. It's been stated in the rules and we were asked for clarification on this. We don't allow what Wattpad believes is Mature, which the guidelines can be found here: https://policies.wattpad.com/content

Secondly, we have seen this question pop up in other competitions and want to clear it up before it is asked of us: We only judge the first five chapters of your submissions and do not let writers decide which five chapters are read. When you submit your work to agents in the future, your first five chapters are what will be read, sometimes not even that much.

Because we focus on giving feedback to those who enter, we want to focus on the chapters that are most likely to be read by agents and potential readers to make sure you get the readers you're wanting from this website.

We do not allow categories to be switched. Our categories are based on what your labeled your book as per Wattpad's genres. This means if you put it in the Fantasy genre on wattpad, you are expected to submit your story to the fantasy category of the Leonis Awards.

Judges volunteer their time and expertise in genres of their choice. We trust them to know how to judge submissions based on those genres, so we don't want our writers to get bad feedback simply because the judge didn't understand the genre. This is why we have that rule in place, again, to make sure you as a writer get the best quality feedback you can get.

If anyone has anymore questions, feel free to message the Host @ChanceChandler, since answering questions is part of her job, or comment on our FAQs section.

Hello everyone! We still have plenty of slots open for our competition. We would like to ask for everyone to share the competition when they can! It doesn't have to be on Wattpad, but can also be shared in discord communities and more

We are giving it until the end of the month and then we will begin judging. Thank you!

Isabela's life was messy, and right when she was about to forget and move on, Theo showed up. Theo thought that returning after all these years would make him forget about it and her but, she hadn't forgotten.

Just a reminder to all participants of this years Leonis Awards.

If you submit a judge application, that means you CAN NOT submit a story into the competition. You may only do one or the other.

The Leonis Award is only given to a single winner, the best of all genres. This means if a judge's story were to get selected as a finalist, they would be barred from judging their own story and that makes it unfair for the other judges.

To prevent this, we do not allow judges to participate in the same year they are judging. This also prevents non-judge participants from claiming the competition to be rigged in a judge's favor.

If you have sent an application and also submitted a story, your judge application will be denied and your story might also not be picked because rules were not read over. Stories are ultimately picked by the judges, so it's up to them if they will accept you or not, and they might consider your submissions to both (competition and judging) in that process.
