Death Note L/Light fanfic idea (ModernAU, death swap, smut)-
""An eye for an eye, my friend." L had used the term without consciously realising it; he had merely thought it fit with the situation. But later that very same day, Light was involved in a car crash: He didn't die, but he had a heart attack shortly afterward. His death was partly L's fault; if L hadn't ordered Light to leave (a spur-of-the-moment decision that he greatly regrets) because of a silly disagreement that could have, and should have, been resolved with a few meagre words, then Light would not have died. L felt that Light blamed him for his own death, and L cannot argue. But, something must have stuck with Light, physically and mentally, causing him to be drawn to L, because L continuously experiences odd things, the main occurrences being a strange, familiar presence and a single phrase written on the fogged-up mirror after his shower, or on little pieces of paper he finds scattered around.
