Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I really want to take the time to pay tribute to two women. Rest in Peace to Naya Rivera and Sandra Bland. Women who we lost too soon to tragedies.
Naya's body was found today after going missing from swimming in Lake Piru a few days ago. She died helping her son get back up on the boat due to a current. She was 33 years old.
Sandra died five years ago today. She was pulled over by a cop for failing to signal a lane change. She was arrested, shackled like an animal, and died suspiciously while in custody. Her death was ruled a suicide despite her family saying that isn't something she would have done. She did NOT kill herself. The officer involved has faced no consequences, despite video footage of him physically assaulting her. She was 28 years old, and she would've been 33 if she were still alive. We are STILL fighting for her.
These women were beautiful and loved! They will never be forgotten. May they both Rest in Peace.
