Hoe many words for a shot story and umber of chapters?

Actually I do want to say. The whole ‘read in one sitting’ is a rule described by Poe. Some people disagree with that!

@baemajeks that’s more of a novella. A short story is typically read in one sitting (a 1-part story). I’d say anything up to 10k words is a short story although that might be pushing it. There’s no one set word limit either. Short stories aren’t just about word count, it’s about the form beyond that.

How many words do you think a chapter should be?

@Crazylonleychick it's normally 1K but u can write less than 1K as well and later take care of it in editing. Trust me I stressed myself so much about each chapter being 1K words but it is fine even if it's less words. U can fix it in a better way in ur revision of the book :))

@Crazylonleychick I normally go with a minimum of 1k words, and would try not to do more than 5k
