Hello Fanders!
I posted a Moxiety (with a bit Logince) fanfic! :)
It's a short story, and I posted all the parts at once.
It would mean much to me if you would check it out and tell me what you think of it.

So I'm reading Alice in Wonderland (in English) on my old e-reader. If you press long on a word, you can see the Dutch translation of that word.

I saw the word "queer" and I know what it means, but I was wonder what this e-reader would say.

Here's what it said, the words between the [ ] are the English translations of that word, (I translated it myself, so maybe it's not correct).

          Queer
Adj. vreemd [strange]; raar [weird]; naar gevoel hebbend [having a bad(?) feeling]; geschift [crazy (but in a bad way, I think?]; homosexueel [homosexual (gay)]

Is queer a homophobic word that became normal??

@_Wroammin_ it means eccentric or weird. I'm pretty sure it used to be a more homophobic way of saying we were weird but just like f@g we claimed it as our own. (Just a little more than F@g) its another one that homophobic people try to use against us honestly. If you think about it gender queer is like saying "my gender is all over the place and kinda weird sometimes" lol. Anyway to answer your question. Technically yes it was (and still is sometimes) used as a homophobic slur.
