Y’all, if you see me reading, posting, voting, interacting, or anything in these next three or so months, please yell at me to get my shit done. I have to adult for a little while and I’ve been reliably informed that spending weeks in a greasy, biscuit-fueled, fanfic-induced reverie is not a healthy way of accomplishing this goal.
@turtely it’s okay lol, it’s hard not to..I didn’t read fanfic yet but I did read the first of the Patrick Melrose books in 24 hours. Reading and living in your head is an addictive coping mechanism.
AO3 has taken my soul. I’m halfway through a 406K word book and a 700K word series right now. And I still come on here to read all manner of refuse and rapture. I think if I didn’t do this, I would be a graduate level chemist by now
The feeling of reading the shittiest fanfic imaginable but still trying to love it because it’s one of two trans representations of a character you love on a whole website
Nothing compares to the emotional edging of being queerbaited for years and then writing and reading fanfiction for a series that will never get the gay resolution it fucking deserves
