I would like to post an explanation on what I've been thinking about when it comes to Loki's character.
Loki as a person is best defined as a shattered glass cup held together by tape. That tape, being his wives. He will kill anyone who has the potential of taking his loved ones away from him. Loki is a man who for 4000 years had been exposed to the idea that no matter what he does to change his fate and no matter how powerful he is, the future refuses change. He has watched the world burn by the hand of Heimdall three times. He has outlived his entire mortal family three times watching his relatives die in front of him while still looking like a 21 year old. He has been sent a thousand years back in time and seen the horrors of history first hand. And no matter how much good he does, he is still branded as an antagonistic diety because he took up the mantle of Loki the Trickster.
That pessimistic mindset began to change when he went to Remnant. He was welcomed there with open arms, he had friends and girls who were attracted to him. It was diffrent and he liked that. When he remembered the threat Adam Taurus had posed his protective mindset took control. As Qahnaarin he killed many people in order to draw out Adam. It wasnt just one night. That wouldn't be enough to draw Adam's attention and for Salem to claim the White Fang had began to become less useful because of him. As Qahnaarin Loki killed over 2000 faunus with Slasher film brutality. And he did not care. After Kai's Retribution you would think that he would just forget about the blood on his hands. No, he thinks about it every time he looks at Blake. One of Loki's greatest fears is that Blake learns of what he had done and leaves him for it. He doesn't feel guilty about the killing, all he feels is fear of consequence if people learn of the identity of Qahnaarin. Because that is all he is capable of feeling.
