If this is retirement - I've never accomplished so much! I play hard and work hard with my fiancee Lawrence (it's been almost 4 years)! He's a P/Eng (Electrical engineer, Principal owner of his own Engineering firm). 2 things became quickly apparent - if I wanted to "go the distance" I'd have to learn every sport you can name - we have seasons tickets for all sports here, and we even follow others (like soccer) worldwide. The other was that our social circle is almost all architects and other engineers: I went "back to school" to become accredited to do V.I.s (fire alarm verifications) and between experience, his tutelage and education I can do most of the interim project inspections (under his review and Stamp). We both love the mountains and we do a lot of work in Hinton which is about half way between Edmonton and Jasper; we also spend a lot of time in our condo in Canmore (20 minutes from Banff).Keeping so busy (work has become my "drug of choice") is how I handle all of the trageties/heartbreaks in life. It's a good thing that we have a great cleaning lady - the only problem is that our cat Quincy despises her! Lawrence spoils me rotten and absolutely dotes on me - what's not to like ?? - I could ask for and receive anything, except the losses of the people I love! Before losing Kristyn I used to BELIEVE there is life after passing - now I KNOW there is: if a person opens their heart there are so many little things almost daily that makes one certain she is always with me; it's not all serious - we laugh together about things, some of which only she could know! And yes - she admonishes me when she thinks it is appropriate! What amazes me is how she has retained her own personality (I guess I used to think that people who have passed sat around on clouds (much like the lady in the cream cheese ads). I now totally believe in Karma (the laws of the Universe) call it whatever you like: what goes round comes back around!
