Ok, I need advice. I'm currently story boarding, and I scrapped a lot of ideas, and I have the first few chapters outlined pretty thoroughly. I'm going to write it (mainly) from my OC's perspective (Shono) and have it be as if she is making journal entries at the end of her day. So 'Chapter One: My Life is Ruined' would be 'Journal Entry 1: My Life is Ruined' 
          
          Basically, I decided that instead of having both her parents be shitty, like Hiori's, Shono's dad would just be misguided. Think of it like this; He grew up without a lot of things, but lived in a fairly rich community, so he was treated as an outcast and a reject. His parents worked hard to provide for him and his needs, so he vowed to make money and support them. 
          
          Now, he's rich for 3 reasons. 1. He is afraid of rejection, so he became rich so that people will always value and respect him. 2. To support his parent's and give them a good life. And 3. Because he doesn't want his children to go through the things he had to. (In this case, he now has Shono.) 
          
          But I was thinking, what if he was manipulated? His family wasn't originally rich, so his marriage being arranged isn't on the table. I'm thinking that the mother is a horrible woman, who is now deeply afraid of being abandoned, which is why she turned to being a manipulator. She charmed Yujo (The Dad.) into marrying her. She also has excellent business sense, which is a plus, and comes from an originally rich family. 
          
          Even though they do love each other, their relationship, status, personalities, and lives are mostly a result of their insecurities, which is not good. I've already written this all in the character info, but now that I think about it, do I really want to reveal this all? At the beginning of the book? Ofc, I didn't go that in depth, but if you're smart, you can figure this much out: THE DAD ISN'T A BAD GUY.
