TL;DR version:
- I like Fantasy and Sci-Fi
- I write, and am getting a writing minor
- Tolkien's the best.

I'm currently attending university at Oregon State, in Corvallis, studying geology. The earth is super cool, and it's not just looking at rocks - though that's not as bad as you'd think, either. I love the outdoors; camping, hiking in the mountains, near streams - all of that. Getting out of civilization gives me a sense of peace and wonder that I just don't get anywhere else.

But, more relevant to Wattpad, I'm working on a writing minor, I'm a huge Tolkien nerd, and an aspiring Fantasy author. Other influences include Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan. Outside of Fantasy, it's Sci-Fi. Dune, of course, and Hitchhiker's. But a couple others: 1984, The Things They Carried.

I've been writing since I was 17, when I was a junior in high school and started reading Eragon. Half way through, I realized "Hey, I can write better than this." And so I started writing. I don't know if that realization is actually true or not, but I sure believed it at the time, and it was enough to get me started. I've written the first book in a series that comes in at a little under 100k words, and as I rewrite and edit, it may get posted here. Maybe not, too, but it's my biggest current project.

When writing, I like to focus on themes of loss and sacrifice - the personal cost of doing what you must. But I also like themes of hope and improvement and growth, so all of these will hopefully swirl together to create strong, compelling stories. Read on!
