Although I've been a member of Wattpad for a couple of years it's only recently that I've plucked up the courage to use it.
I self published my first novel (historical) on 1st March 2014 and have struggled with the marketing due to an illness that arrived pretty soon after. However, now back on track and trying hard. The Duke's Shadow can be found on Amazon and if you read it I'd love to know what you think - good or not so good!.
I have five (or is it six?) other full length works in progress. I'm working on three at the moment, one is a light fantasy (YA cross) - Wolf Moon.
The second is another historical novel, the first I ever wrote about 10 years ago and based during WWII and its working title is All Will Be Well.
The third is the one I'm about to unleash on here. The Good{Expat}Life is a kind of humorous take on my experience of moving and living in Italy. It's based on a smidgen of fact and the rest is very much made up! I plan to publish the series of vignettes (they can be read as short stories in their own right) on the 7th October 2014 when we celebrate 7 years of being here.
When I first moved here, I missed the contact with fellow writers that I had taken for granted in sleepy Dorset. So I set up a virtual writers community, solely for expats in similar position to myself. Writers Abroad now has 20 members from all over the world, we have published four anthologies raising over £2000 for childrens book charities and are about to publish our first magazine.
I am excited about the new world of self publishing and wish it is not long before it is considered on the same level as trad publishing.
I'm also a member of the FabOverFifty club (one member that's me!) but I'm tired of being labelled because of my age!
Looking forward to my experience on Wattpad... :)
