          Her voice barely rose above a whisper. "Manik?" she breathed, her heart thudding in her chest, a strange mix of surprise and hesitation filling the air between them.
          
          Manik's hand froze on the door handle. He looked up slowly, and his eyes narrowed as recognition hit him like a punch to the gut. There she was. Nandini. The name came out heavy, as if it was something he hadn't uttered in a decade but felt just as familiar as it ever had.
          
          
          However, the chapter update (it's ready!) is solely responsible on the readers. I don't see a good response on this book— hardly any votes and just one word comments. So, please expect the next chapter to be updated only when the book (Yes, you read it right. The book, not just a particular chapter) begins performing well.

"Manik strolled past a small stage where a folk singer's voice rose and fell in soothing waves. A little further, a band played a soulful tune, the strains of a violin cutting through the night like a delicate thread. He paused for a moment, letting the melody seep into him, feeling the ache in his heart ease just a little.
          
          And then he noticed her. Just a glimpse, a flash of pink among the crowd.
          
          He turned quickly, his heart stopping for a moment, almost certain he was imagining it. But there she was—Nandini."
