My chapter Repeating in Whispers of the Shadow is eerily brought to life in the Netflix show Orphan Black Echoes. I've only watched the 1st 15 minutes but yeah, weird. It came out in 2024. Just thought, damn

I've missed some weeks from here. I was ill and had been in the ER for an entire night. The next week, my Dad had fallen and ended up in the hospital. They found his heart was working at 15% and he couldn't feel his legs at all. The hospital transported my Dad to a hospital in Madison that specialized in cardiac cases. They ended up draining 7 liters of fluid off his heart, lungs and abdomen. With this release of weight on his body, they then put two stents into his heart to open his ventricles up more. It obviously worked as he has been transferred to a rehab facility closer to home. I've gone to see him twice in Madison - a 400 mile round trip to pick up his wife who doesn't drive on the interstate and then to visit Dad. Then drive all the way back - normally taking most of the day. I have been so exhausted but drove out yet again this past Saturday. My brother had driven up from Indiana to visit Dad and we needed to talk with him about life insurance policies, going into assisted living, his will ... you know, fun shit.
My Dad is still breathing and still with us. Emotionally, this has hit me hard, I can't imagine losing my Dad, ever. Physically, my Fibro has fought back with back pain, cramping legs and spasms all over. It's been a rough few weeks.

BUT! I have a new Whispers in the Shadow chapter and a new adventure in Family. Love you all and when I remember to look, I enjoy your comments on my stories.

new poem up, yes I'm missing my child. He's been on his own for almost a year now, working as a teacher for developmentally challenged children. He is across the state from us but has indeed flown away

@Lree25 Being separated from one's kids, regardless of their age, is sheer hell. My heart goes out to you. ♥♥♥

@Lree25 Can't wait to read it. It's already been a year? It must be so hard for you to be away from him. I hope you get the chance to talk plenty. ❤️

I'm back! Published a chapter in Whispers in the Shadow and currently typing another few chapters in Family. I've been writing notes in my phone as they hit me about ideas - there are quite a few for Whispers.

I'm laying there last night, trying to sleep when Who Am I? hit me - rolled over, logged into my phone and typed it out. Fell asleep about 2 seconds after that.
I have Sunday and Tuesday off with my work schedule and have been catching up on dr appointments, used my vision insurance and have new glasses - 20 years after my Lasek & 5 years after going to Readers to see. Still getting used to them but it's so nice to be able to type without being 2 inches from the screen.
I either am at appointments, visiting people, doing needed housework or just resting on my days off. I'm normally reading here but not writing. I've missed writing.
My job is giving me the opportunity to get extra $ paid on my bills. We were able to subscribe to Netflix again Watched KPop Demon Hunters within 30 minutes of getting it. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Even if you don't like KPop, it's a good movie. Would totally recommend it. Now I'm starting to get involved with Twice - a girl group that I never enjoyed before.
Life is going well, have lost a few more friends to cancer and I've mourned them. It's almost been 2 years since I've lost my best friend Shawna to liver cancer. My Mom is slowly losing herself to Dementia and my Dad is going downhill. He can't drive anymore and when I saw him a week ago, I had to keep my tears in. He will be 80 this December. I'm terrified about losing him.
Hello again, I've missed you all. I hope anyone who is in the danger of fires, floods or extreme heat - please stay safe (WezleyBrookz, this means YOU!)
Milwaukee and our area has been hit with way too much rain and have had way too many floods. So much damage, thankfully not too many deaths.

          *hugs and love* ~ Kathryn

@Lree25 That's so amazing. You've motivated me to get back to writing and reading as well. I hope this creative streak doesn't let you go. I'm excited to read your work again. ❤️

Well, got promoted to full time & different shifts - signed up for my new insurance and yay yay!!! Happy times!

until I realized I screwed up my checking acct - about $300 worth. Have a phone bill & Amazon to pay late but hopefully nothing will bounce. Survived on less than $6.94 so will live.

With my extra hours, Im planning on jumping on getting rid of debt. We owe around $12k now (hubby's dental bills ugh)

Opinion and advice time. How did you or people you know get out of debt?
attack smallest bill 1st, fo after highest interest 1st?

Any advice would be helpful ( Im a 55 yr old who successfully raised a kid & I still need advice - smh) Thanks!

Lree25

Well, I have gone with your advice. We are now out of one credit card and soon to apply that amount paid to the 2nd highest interest card we have. It makes me SO happy to see one card taken off my budget. YAY!!!

thank you for your advice! I've been writing down the interest for each account & will most definitely work on those larger ones first (both bill & interest)

I haven’t been in major debt- but as someone who graduated in accounting I’d recommend always paying the essentials first.

Once that’s out of the way- do go after whatever loans are holding the highest interest payments. If possible definitely pay back on the principal not just the interest payments (this will bring the payment amounts lower with time and more manageable).

I know there’s a lot of videos on this, but cutting down on your principal loans (especially ones with more money & higher interest rates) is the strategy I’d take. The one I’m pretty sure my parents once took.

Hope all goes well for you, hopefully my thoughts on the debt make sense.
