"We live in a world where you say the wrong answer in class, you get laughed at. Where if you dress a certain way, you get looked at. Where if your grades aren't as good as others, you're stupid. Where people say, "You need to eat more." but if you do you're too fat and those words change to, "You need to lose weight." We live in a world where people don't know what others are going through. Where if you don't know what to do in life, you won't have one. WHere if you shop at Walmart, you're ghetto or poor. Where if you've made out with three guys, you're a whore, but if you've never kissed someone, you're a prude. Where if you aren't apart of the "in crowd", you're a loser. We live in a world where we are all expected to live up to everyone's expectations. Where we constantly judge people. We live in a world where being yourself isn't expected." - One of my best friends
To be honest, nothing has ever moved me as much as this and it's so incredibly true. The world we live in today sucks. When I read this for the first time, I almost cried because of how much I can relate to all of these things. Knowing I push myself to try and fit in is not okay. Society is toxic and I encourage people to think, be yourself no matter what people think of you because the only opinion that matters to you, should be you.
