Kindness is free.
Recently, I bought a hardbound copy of Objection, Your Honor by Nairobiwrites on Shopee. I’ve actually been checking the shop every now and then just for that book. I even downloaded her works on AO3 before, so I could read them offline whenever I didn’t have internet access.
I was just starting to dive deeper into the Nairobiverse on X when the unexpected thing happened.
As both a writer and a reader, it hurts to see things end this way. Being a writer, we understand our limits. We always remind readers to ship responsibly, especially when it comes to our AU works.
During Mikha’s live, some people started spamming the comment section about the book.
Then on X, others began questioning why a copy of the book was given to Mikhaiah. Saying things like it’s “weird” to give it to Mikha and Aiah. People were so quick to judge the book without even reading it.
It’s painful to see such words thrown around carelessly. Yes, we all have the freedom of speech, but sometimes it goes too far. Please, let’s all choose our words more carefully.
I’m not the type to post things like this, but this time, I just couldn’t stay silent.
