My theory: in Capetown Brendon told Ryan he loved him, Ryan felt bad, and was too in the moment to turn him down, he lied and said that he loved Brendon back, Brendon woke Ryan and asked him that morning if he actually loved him, Ryan said no and told him about his thoughts on quitting the band, leaving a broken-hearted Brendon crying in the corner for hours
*cue Northern Downpour silently getting louder in the background*

Ryan and Jon had different ideas for the band than Brendon and Spencer and decided to go their separate ways
