It depends on how long youve been uploading consistently, if youve only just started, you should keep on publishing, also, the most important thing in writing a story, you must constantly give in pieces of good plot, but not info dumping, you need to have a good start that hooks the reader early on, and preferably shouldn't be a story like every other, my story, forged beyond took forever to gain momentum, but when it did it went good, keep on working on it , you will do it, also I'm not so sure about what you mean by "checking your subjects"
