I don't have my phone on me and I know I'll forget, so I'm just telling you here. For the issue involving your laptop not charging, this occasionally happens to me too. Close your laptop and check that the light changes, and then plug it in, and then it should turn red if it is low battery. Then you can open it and it should charge while you use it. I have recently discovered this and it has been foolproof so far.
