How are you all holding up?
My heart is heavy seeing what Hurricane Melissa has done to Jamaica. St. Elizabeth, St. James, Westmoreland, Hanover — so many places are down flat. Homes are under water, roofs are gone, and sadly, lives have been lost.
To everyone who made it through, I thank God for your safety and for the gift of life. To the families mourning the 19 lives we’ve lost (I could be wrong), I’m so sorry. May God comfort and strengthen you through this storm.
If you still have a home, please open your doors and hearts to someone who doesn’t if you can. We might not have much, but the little we can give could make someone's day.
I’m truly grateful to God that it didn’t reach my side as bad, because maybe I would’ve been among those who lost everything. That alone reminds me, it could’ve been any of us.
Let’s keep praying for Jamaica, especially for the ones who loss everything or loss overall. For healing, restoration, and hope. God is still in control, even in the middle of a disaster.
Just have faith and take it a day at a time.
I'm still waiting to hear from one of my friends living in Trelawny (she's been offline since Sunday night) I can only pray that it's just signal and electricity she doesn't have.
Continue to stay safe, pray for each other and spread the love. Prayer goes a long way because a lot of people still haven't gotten in touch with their families and we have to hope for the best.
